Environmental Defense Fund, Inc. (EDF) seeks a Senior Director, Transaction Advisory to lead the day-to-day advisory across four Latin American and Caribbean countries under a World Bank-funded program to mobilize large carbon transactions for jurisdictional forest protection.

The role reports to EDF’s AVP, Jurisdictional Alliances & Market Dev, Forests, and will manage a small team while coordinating a broad set of advisory partners, government actors, and World Bank stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years in management consulting, investment banking, transaction advisory, or carbon trading.
• Spanish native or bilingual with English fluency.
• Experience advising senior government officials, multilateral institutions, or executives on complex issues.
• Willing to travel up to 30% and to EDF’s New York office.

Responsibilities

• Lead government-facing relationships across all participating countries and translate priorities into workplans.
• Oversee Phase 1 diagnostics and Country Support Plans for four countries.
• Lead end-to-end Phase 2 transaction execution, including pricing, negotiations, and due diligence.
• Coordinate portfolio-wide advisory and liaise with World Bank stakeholders.
