Job summary

Environmental Defense Fund, Inc. seeks a Senior Director, Transaction Advisory to lead the day-to-day transaction work across four Latin American and Caribbean countries under a World Bank-funded program.

You will manage a small team and coordinate a diverse set of advisory partners, government actors, and World Bank stakeholders. You will report to the AVP, Jurisdictional Alliances & Market Dev, Forests, and drive readiness, market engagement, and commercial close while aligning with EDF values

Qualifications

• Native or fully bilingual Spanish with excellent written and verbal skills.
• English fluency required.
• 10+ years in management consulting, investment banking, transaction advisory, or carbon trading.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary government-facing counterpart across four countries, building trust with senior stakeholders.
• Lead diagnostics and planning across Phase 1, delivering country support plans with actionable time-bound pathways.
• Lead end-to-end transaction execution in Phase 2, including strategy, buyer engagement, pricing, and due diligence.
• Provide portfolio-wide commercial advisory and market intelligence to inform opportunities.
• Lead Latin America Carbon Advisory Function and coordinate with partners and World Bank stakeholders.
• Support EDF’s organizational effectiveness and culture goals and manage project risk.
