Job summary

Harvard Kennedy School’s Bloomberg Center for Cities is seeking a Senior Director to connect Harvard students with cities and opportunities in city government. You will translate mayoral priorities into student-ready projects, internships, and fellowships, while expanding engagement across Harvard and beyond.

The role leads high-profile fellowship programs, builds lasting partnerships, and grows a team to advance public service impact in cities worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of professional experience in program leadership, student engagement, public service, or related fields.
• Experience working in or closely with city government strongly preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Center’s strategy for connecting cities and students.
• Partner with cities to translate priorities into student-ready projects, internships, and roles.
• Partner across Harvard to expand student access to city-focused opportunities.
• Deliver and strengthen high-profile fellowship programs (Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellowship and Center’s summer programs).
• Lead and grow a high-performing team and build enduring partnerships.
