Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Team Leader for Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) to guide the Austin and Midland CEI teams. The role emphasizes leadership of inspection and testing efforts for DOT and municipal projects across Central Texas.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in roadway design, project management, and TE TXDOT methods, with PE licensure in Texas. Join a growing, employee-owned firm and help shape Halff's Construction Services practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in civil engineering or ABET-equivalent
• PE license in Texas required
• 10+ years of roadway design & DOT/municipal project management experience
• Thorough knowledge of inspection methods, materials, safety procedures
• Ability to lead complex transportation projects, manage budgets & schedules
• Ability to read contract drawings, specs, CPM schedules
• Experience evaluating contractor claims
• Knowledge of Texas testing methods & TxDOT manuals
• Strong technical guidance to staff; commitment to quality
• TxDOT Advanced MOT & related courses completed

Responsibilities

• Manage CEI teams across South and West Texas
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project admins and inspectors
• Serve as CEI Senior Project Engineer for TX projects
• Lead CEI pursuits with local government and TxDOT
• Oversee budgets, personnel, schedules, subconsultants, client relations
• Support business development and pursuit of CEI opportunities
