Job summary

Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine seeks a Sr. Director, Advanced Practice Providers to provide strategic clinical leadership and oversight for 500+ APPs across JH-employed and leased practice locations.

The role partners with OVDCA, HR, and department leaders to standardize APP governance and optimize care models. The position reports to the Senior Associate Dean and JHHS/JHM Executive Director, with a focus on workforce development, regulatory adherence, and innovative practice

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited program as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Certified Nurse Midwife.
• Ten years of progressively responsible clinical and leadership experience, including at least five years in management with multidisciplinary teams.
• Current licensure and certification as RN, NP, PA, CRNA, or CNM.
• CPR certification.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience; higher education may substitute for required education.

Responsibilities

• Lead the infrastructure and governance for Advanced Practice Providers across SOM.
• Standardize APP governance, workflows, and care models across departments and sites.
• Oversee workforce planning, deployment, and alignment with clinical growth and priorities.
• Establish metrics and performance evaluation processes for APP clinical performance.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, licensure, credentialing, and market-competitive compensation.
• Develop credentialing and privileging systems for APPs.
• Maintain a part-time clinical practice while leading the program.
