Job summary

Designworks Talent LLC is seeking a Data Center Operations and Maintenance Senior Director to lead the early-stage operational org for a next-generation AI infrastructure platform in a hybrid Bellevue, WA setting. The role focuses on building reliable, scalable processes and leading cross-functional teams across engineering, hardware, and customer operations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Ops, SRE, Infra Ops, or Data Center Ops teams.
• Proven ability to scale production infrastructure in cloud or hyperscale environments.
• Deep knowledge of incident response, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Experience guiding cross-functional teams during major production incidents.
• Strong understanding of compute, networking, storage, and hardware ops.
• Track record building scalable support models in high-growth settings.
• Executive communication skills to influence engineering and business leadership.
• Comfort operating in early-stage orgs building systems from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and mentor high-performing Operations & Maintenance teams.
• Develop operational strategy, structure, and execution for large-scale AI infra.
• Establish incident response, change management, problem management, and SRE processes.
• Lead major incident management and executive communications during events.
• Drive improvements via monitoring, observability, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Engineering to ensure readiness for new deployments.
• Define SLOs, KPIs, and reliability metrics across infrastructure.
• Create scalable on-call programs, runbooks, and governance.
• Champion root-cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
• Influence architecture and tooling for availability and customer experience.
• Shape long-term ops org as the company grows globally.
