Capital One is seeking a Sr. Director, Applied Researcher to lead the AI Foundations program in San Jose. You will partner with researchers, data scientists, engineers and product managers to deliver AI-powered banking solutions at scale.

This role emphasizes building production-grade models, setting strategic research direction, and translating complex science into measurable business outcomes, with opportunities across high-performance cloud and open-source tools.

Formación

• PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, AI or related field plus 6 years of applied research experience.
• Alternatively, MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, AI or related field plus 8 years of applied research
• At least 5 years of people leadership experience

Responsabilidades

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that change how customers interact with their money.
• Leverage a broad stack of technologies to reveal insights from large datasets.
• Build and apply AI foundation models through all development phases.
• Engage in high impact applied research to push AI into customer experiences.
