Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Leader in San Francisco to own the roadmap for data infrastructure, ingestion, and semantic layers. You will manage cross-functional teams and partner with Data Science to ensure trusted, scalable data for AI-driven products.

You’ll drive data governance, reliability, and cost optimization while mentoring engineering managers and senior ICs in a fast-paced SaaS environment, enabling agent-driven analytics at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering, data platform or infra roles; 5+ years in leadership at Director level or above.
• Proven track record building and scaling data platforms (ingestion, warehousing, semantic/metrics) at SaaS scale.
• Experience leading through organizational change and partnering with Data Science/Analytics leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own and unify the Data Engineering roadmap across infrastructure, ingestion, governance, tooling, and semantic layers.
• DRI for data engineering; resolve cross-team priority conflicts.
• Set data freshness SLAs, warehouse reliability, and cost optimization.
• Build and scale engineering capacity by hiring and developing top talent.
• Partner with product, infrastructure, and leadership on cross-cutting initiatives.
