About Us

PIP is a high‑growth technology consulting firm operating within Private Equity’s middle market. In over 20 years of operation, PIP has supported more than 250 Private Equity Clients and 1,000 Portfolio Companies in due diligence, complex M&A transactions, technology roadmaps, and digital transformations.

We specialize across industries including manufacturing, distribution, services, healthcare, finance, and high‑tech. Our team is composed of highly skilled professionals committed to excellence, innovation, and integrity.

As a leading brand within this space, PIP is pursuing an aggressive growth plan and is seeking to expand its Advisory & Transformation function.

Position Overview

The Senior Director, AI & Data is both a strategic advisor and hands‑on practitioner, leading complex data and AI engagements, performing assessments, and producing executive‑ready deliverables that drive measurable portfolio value. In this role, you will partner closely with Private Equity sponsors and portfolio company executives to shape, execute, and communicate data strategies, analytics architectures, and AI‑driven solutions that enable growth, efficiency, and exit readiness.

This role represents a unique opportunity to own and scale PIP’s growing AI & Data offering — defining its services, professionalizing delivery models, and shaping how the practice operates across the PE and portfolio ecosystem. You will have latitude to build offerings, frameworks, and delivery standards that strengthen client impact and position PIP as a market leader in AI‑driven value creation.

The Senior Director, AI & Data will:
  • Own and evolve PIP’s AI & Data offering area, establishing best‑in‑class methodologies, tools, and delivery standards to ensure consistent, scalable client impact.
  • Define and operationalize the practice’s portfolio of offerings (e.g., data strategy, analytics modernization, AI enablement) in alignment with PIP’s overall Advisory & Transformation vision.
  • Enhance and evolve PIP’s AI & Data Advisory frameworks, methodologies, and tools for consistent, high‑quality delivery.
  • Coach and develop team members and contractors, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and data‑driven culture.
  • Contribute to practice growth initiatives, including capability development, IP creation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with alliance partners and internal leaders to expand technical depth and strengthen client delivery across cloud, data, and AI ecosystems.
Client Delivery & Leadership
  • Lead and oversee AI and data advisory engagements, including data strategy, analytics modernization, AI/ML use case development, and data platform transformation.
  • Perform hands‑on assessments of data environments, tools, and governance practices to identify opportunities for improved quality, scalability, and ROI.
  • Develop and deliver executive‑ready presentations and reports (PowerPoint) that communicate findings, opportunities, and recommendations in clear, outcome‑oriented language.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable data and AI roadmaps aligned with portfolio value‑creation goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to PE sponsors and portfolio executives on data monetization, AI investment priorities, and risk management.
  • Lead design and implementation efforts for modern data platforms (e.g., cloud data lakes, data warehouses, and AI pipelines) in collaboration with technical delivery teams.
  • Facilitate governance meetings and executive discussions to align stakeholders, manage risk, and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations for quality, timeliness, and impact.
Sales & Business Development
  • Partner with account managers and engagement leads to scope opportunities, shape solutions, and craft compelling proposals.
  • Support pre‑sales activities through the development of high‑quality pitch materials, proposals, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Lead and participate in client meetings and presentations, articulating PIP’s AI and data capabilities and shaping opportunities aligned to client objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders and decision makers across PE sponsors and portfolio companies.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities to expand PIP’s presence and influence within existing Private Equity clients and portfolio ecosystems.
We are excited about you because you bring:
  • 12–15+ years of experience across data and analytics consulting, enterprise data leadership, or AI/ML solution delivery, including 8+ years in client‑facing roles.
  • Proven success leading AI and data advisory engagements for Private Equity firms or portfolio companies, driving measurable business and financial outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in at least three of the following: data strategy, data architecture, analytics modernization, AI/ML, data governance, or cloud data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems and data ecosystems, including ERP, CRM, and industry‑specific applications that feed analytics and AI pipelines.
  • Experience implementing modern data and AI solutions using leading technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
  • Financial and business acumen — understands key PE value levers (EBITDA, cash flow, multiple expansion, ROI) and connects data and AI initiatives to measurable outcomes.
  • Hands‑on leadership style — equally comfortable developing data strategies, performing detailed assessments, and producing executive‑ready deliverables.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, engaging effectively across both technical and business audiences up to the C‑suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Azure/AWS Data Engineer, SnowPro, Databricks, or equivalent) preferred.
Success Metrics & Outcomes
  • Deliver high‑impact AI and data engagements on time and within budget, consistently exceeding client expectations.
  • Drive measurable portfolio value through analytics modernization, data‑driven decision enablement, and AI adoption.
  • Achieve performance targets for utilization, client satisfaction, and business growth.
  • Build trusted relationships that generate repeat engagements and strengthen PIP’s position as a PE‑focused AI & Data leader.
  • Contribute to PIP’s growth through thought leadership, practice development, and creation of reusable tools, accelerators, and intellectual property.
  • Sales targets $2 - $4M consisting of solutioning opportunities identified by Business Development + extension/expansion/pull through from individual delivery work.
What We Offer Our Employees
  • The opportunity to be part of building and growing PIP’s Advisory & Transformation Services.
  • Competitive and lucrative compensation and benefits, including performance‑based incentives.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 401(k) program.
  • 15 days of vacation and 11 paid holidays upon joining.
  • A high‑performing, collaborative, and supportive work culture with strong work‑life balance.
  • The opportunity to work with high‑profile clients across industries at the C‑suite and leadership levels.
  • Access to a rich network of peers, clients, and partners within the Private Equity ecosystem.
