Job summary

Halozyme, Inc. in San Diego, CA, seeks a Senior Director of Accounting to lead cost accounting, COGS, revenue and GTN accounting, ensuring accurate reporting and a strong close process.

You will build and mentor a high-performing team, partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, QA, FP&A and Legal to provide insights and drive scalable systems. This role requires CPA, 17+ years in finance, and experience in public company or regulated environments, with NetSuite and advanced Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA active is required.
• Minimum 17 years of progressive finance and technical accounting experience.
• Public company or regulated environment experience preferred.
• Extensive experience in revenue recognition, GTN, inventory, and cost accounting.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP and strong MS Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for cost accounting, COGS, revenue and GTN accounting and related reporting.
• Direct accounting team members to ensure priorities, accountability and quality execution.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close for inventory, COGS, product revenue and GTN reserves.
• Ensure U.S. GAAP compliance and maintain internal controls and policies.
• Lead technical accounting for commercial contracts, pricing reconciliations and inventory valuation.
• Partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, FP&A and Legal to deliver insights and guide decisions.
• Drive process optimization, system upgrades and scalable accounting processes.
• Support audits and strengthen SOX compliance and governance.
