Job summary

Halozyme in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior Manager, Cost Accounting to lead inventory, cost of goods sold, and standard costing. You will partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and FP&A to ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and provide decision support for operational excellence.

The role requires deep cost accounting, SOX, and ERP experience (NetSuite preferred). A CPA/CMA and 12+ years in finance are expected, with strong analytical and cross-functional skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree and/or MBA preferred).
• CPA or CMA certification required (active certification preferred).
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive finance and technical accounting experience, including public accounting or public company experience.
• Minimum of eight years of cost accounting, standard costing, manufacturing, supply chain, internal controls, and SOX compliance experience.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft tools and financial data analysis.
• Experience driving process improvement, automation, and scalable reporting solutions.
• Experience working with CMOs and 3PLs.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of inventory accounting, cost accounting and COGS accounting, including valuation and standard costing.
• Own and enhance standard costing methodologies and inventory valuation processes.
• Ensure inventory valuation and COGS are in line with U.S. GAAP and policies.
• Analyze variances and provide insights to support performance and risks.
• Lead inventory reserve analyses and collaborate with business partners.
• Perform month/quarter/year-end close related to inventory and manufacturing costs.
• Prepare analyses, management reporting and schedules for inventory and product profitability.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and FP&A for costing analytics and budgeting.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.
• Support SOX compliance and internal audits with documentation.
