Job summary

State of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional Senior in Austin, MN. This part-time role supports individuals with developmental and behavioral needs in short- and long-term housing programs, with day/evening/overnight shifts and weekend rotation.

Responsibilities include assessing needs, implementing support plans, documenting outcomes, and using positive behavior supports to help individuals achieve quality of life and personal growth.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, or co-occurring disorders.
• Ability to use verbal de-escalation strategies.
• Clear communication with community members, employers and teams.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Able to perform all physical/essential requirements with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessing individuals' needs through direct care duties.
• Develop and implement residential/habilitation support plans.
• Evaluate outcomes and modify plans as required.
• Respond therapeutically using de-escalation techniques for challenging behaviors.
