Job summary

The State of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional Senior to support residents in Hastings, MN. You will provide direct care, help develop and implement housing plans, and document outcomes to promote growth and independence.

You will work part-time in shifts including days/evenings/overnights, with a shift differential for evening hours. A $2,500 hiring bonus is available; a valid driver’s license and ability to meet physical requirements are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals who have intellectual disabilities, mental illness, or co-occurring diagnoses.
• Ability to de-escalate verbally and manage challenging behaviors.
• Clear communication with community members, employers, and teams.
• Must be at least 18 years old; valid driver's license required.
• Proficient in basic math and computer tasks; able to document data accurately.
• Formal training/certification in related fields (CNA, PCA, First Aid, CPR).
• CNA experience in group homes, nursing homes, or similar settings.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in assessing individuals' needs by performing direct care duties.
• Developing and implementing residential and habilitation support plans with goals and methods.
• Evaluating and documenting outcomes, maintaining or modifying plans as required.
• Respond therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports.
