Job summary

Minnesota Direct Care and Treatment is seeking a Direct Support Professional Senior in Brainerd. This part-time position involves direct care, implementing support plans, and documenting outcomes.

Expect to work days/evenings/overnights on a rotating schedule, with potential weekends and holidays. You will respond to challenging behaviors with de-escalation strategies, support individuals in daily activities, and collaborate with teams to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals who have intellectual disabilities and/or mental illness.
• Ability to use verbal de-escalation to respond to challenging behaviors.
• Clear communication with community members, employers and teams.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to perform physical duties with/without accommodations.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessing individuals’ needs by performing direct care duties.
• Develop and implement residential and habilitation support plans with goals and methods.
• Evaluate and document outcomes and modify plans as required.
• Respond therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports.
