Job summary

Sunrise-Community-of-Polk-County,-Inc. seeks compassionate individuals for Direct Support roles within a large not-for-profit focused on people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You will assist with daily activities, document progress, and support independence and choice in a respectful, person-centered environment. Responsibilities include coordinating with the Residential Program Director, scheduling staff and appointments, and ensuring health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.
• Valid driver’s license with endorsements; minimum 3 years driving experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent if required by work location.
• Minimum one year of experience in human services if required by work location.

Responsibilities

• Assist Residential Program Director in supervising individuals per their plans.
• Ensure training, behavior and support programs are implemented and documented per regulatory requirements.
• Protect health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Provide a positive environment promoting independence and choice.
• Assist with scheduling staff, appointments, vehicle maintenance and groceries.
• Monitor ongoing compliance with agency directives, licensing standards and policies and procedures.
• Ensure homes, outside areas and vehicles are well maintained and organized.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
