Job summary

Sunrise Community, Inc. seeks compassionate Direct Support professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings. The role focuses on supervision, daily living support, and promoting independence in a respectful, person-centered approach.

You will work under the Residential Program Director, ensuring plans are followed, and safety and well-being are prioritized. The role includes scheduling and transportation tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Background and Drug Screenings pre-employment
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License with endorsements and have at least 3 years of driving experience
• Basic computer skills required
• High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location
• Minimum one year of experience in the human service field if required by work location

Responsibilities

• Supervise individuals according to their plans and provide support
• Ensure training, behavior and support programs are implemented and documented per regulatory requirements
• Protect health, safety, and well-being of individuals at all times
• Provide a positive environment that promotes independence and choice
• Assist with scheduling staff, appointments, transportation, and shopping as assigned
• Monitor ongoing compliance with agency directives, licensing standards and policies
• Maintain and organize homes, outdoor areas and vehicles
• Perform other duties as assigned
