Job summary

Distinctive Living is seeking a Director of Restaurant and Hospitality for the Mira Vie Tinton Falls community. This full‑time role reports to the Executive Director and leads all activities of the Restaurant and Hospitality Department, focusing on meal quality, service delivery, and budget management.

The position requires a strong background in food service, staff leadership, and adherence to safety and nutrition standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Assistance with coaching and staff management experience.
• ServSafe certification or state/local licenses required.
• Experience with MS Word and Excel preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Resolves conflicts and maintains organization under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, control, communicate, and coach in the dining service department.
• Direct the Restaurant and Hospitality Department; meet nutritional requirements including special diets.
• Ensure safe food handling and proper storage; verify equipment standards.
• Coach staff to provide high‑quality service and maintain resident satisfaction.
• Assist Executive Director with hiring decisions and staff evaluations; train new staff.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, schedule staff, order food and manage inventory.
• Set quality standards for food presentation and service; manage receiving and inventory.
• Foster teamwork and a positive, ethical work environment; support residents and visitors.
