Job summary

Distinctive Living in Warren, NJ is seeking a Director of Restaurant and Hospitality for the Mira Vie Warren community. This full-time leadership role directs all activities of the Restaurant and Hospitality Department and dining room, ensuring high-quality meals and service.

You will manage budget and purchasing, supervise staff, ensure safety and compliance, and foster resident satisfaction through attentive dining experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of experience in food services preparation and two years' managing staff required.
• Current ServSafe Certification is required and/or any local, state required food handling/sanitation licenses.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Performs well under pressure, resolves conflicts, and possesses organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, control, communicate and coach in the dining service department.
• Manage and direct the Restaurant and Hospitality Department; implement menu program meeting nutritional requirements.
• Ensure foods are prepared to residents' satisfaction and in line with safety standards.
• Coach staff to provide high-quality service during mealtimes and engage with residents for feedback.
• Support hiring, firing, promotion decisions and performance evaluations by leadership; train staff on policies and procedures.
• Maintain clean kitchen; develop work schedules and inventory for food and supplies.
• Establish quality standards for presentation and service of food; manage receiving and storage of supplies.
• Foster teamwork, integrity, and positive resident and staff experiences; perform other duties as assigned.
