Job summary

Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, is seeking a Dietary Aide for Mary Queen & Mother Center. The role supports residents in a mission-driven senior services environment with emphasis on safe food handling and compassionate service.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, serving trays per diet orders, maintaining hygiene, operating the dish machine, and assisting with cleaning and stocking.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous food service, dietary, healthcare, hospitality or food-service experience.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, infection prevention, and safe food handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintains good personal hygiene.
• Prepares and handles food in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Plates and serves food in an eye appealing way.
• Sets tables.
• Prepares residents’ trays based on diet orders.
• Assists residents in cutting meat, opening milk, condiments, juice, etc.
• Follows and meets job breakdown schedules.
• Serves food at appropriate temperatures.
• Completes all cleaning assignments.
• Labels, dates, and stores food properly.
• Follows tray dietary slips accurately.
• Reports safety or sanitation hazards to lead or manager.
• Reports problems with residents and/or eating habits to Dietitian.
• Operates dish machine correctly and efficiently.
• Cleans pots, pans, and utensils per guidelines.
• Returns cleaned dishes to storage areas.
• Cleans dish room after each meal.
• Receives and stores stock using FIFO.
• Attends in-services and training meetings.
• Empties trashcans and maintains cleanliness.
• Sweeps and mops floors.
• Performs heavy duty cleaning as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Attends pre-meal huddles and follows directions.
• Operates griddle for simple sandwiches and eggs on request.
