Job summary

Ford is seeking a Dimensional Engineer to join the Advance EV team in a hybrid role. You will own 3DCS tolerance analysis end-to-end, build multi-level vehicle assemblies, and prove design feasibility for production.

You’ll collaborate closely with Design Studio, product engineering, manufacturing quality, and operations to ensure meticulous dimensional quality throughout development. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automotive dimensional engineering, strong GD&T knowledge, and hands-on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in automotive Dimensional Engineering.
• 3+ years performing 3D statistical tolerance analysis in 3DCS.
• In-depth knowledge of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5M-2009).
• Working knowledge of production and quality control in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with DFMEA/DFMA and dimensional variation analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own 3D statistical variation analysis in 3DCS end to end from model build to recommendations.
• Build and maintain multi-level vehicle assemblies in 3DCS as design matures.
• Run 1D and 3D dimensional feasibility studies for production.
• Own dimensional objectives for your commodity and drive resolution.
• Turn results into data-driven recommendations for design and manufacturing teams.
• Apply GD&T to define and validate drawings and dimensional requirements.
• Define datum and locating strategies to improve build quality.
• Architect body build sequences with dimensional accuracy and feasibility in mind.
• Collaborate with Design Studio, product engineering, manufacturing, and quality.
• Support each build phase and drive lessons learned into future programs.
• Grow the capability by mentoring and coaching within the team.
