Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, is seeking a strategic and hands-on Principal Digital Technology Site Leader to drive the digital transformation at the Decatur, AL manufacturing facility. You will lead a local DT team, manage budgets, and optimize MES/ERP systems while advancing AI initiatives and OT security.

The role requires 7+ years in IT within manufacturing, 3+ years in leadership, and strong collaboration across functions. Travel ~10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of IT roles within manufacturing environments.
• 3+ years leading complex IT projects and teams.
• Strong communication with leadership and cross-functional groups.
• Expertise in MES configuration, screen/UI design, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Oracle ERP, including procurement and data flow design.
• Understanding of networking and OT cybersecurity in industrial settings.
• Experience with Jira, Smartsheets, SQL, Tableau, Power BI.
• Proficient in Oracle SQL and JavaScript reading.
• Willingness to travel ~10%

Responsibilities

• Drive plant-level Digital Technology strategies aligned with enterprise goals.
• Coach, mentor, and grow a high-performing local DT team.
• Forecast local IT budget and manage end-to-end project delivery.
• Partner with operations to optimize core systems (MES/ERP/OT).
• Lead data collection strategies within MES to improve production performance.
• Design, configure, and maintain plant edge devices and infrastructure.
• Promote AI initiatives to modernize IT and OT manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate across teams to adopt best practices and stay aligned with trends.
