Job summary

City of New York is seeking a Senior Advisor for Digital Strategy within the Mayor’s Office of Child Care and Early Childhood Education (OCCECE). The role leads technology strategy across multiple agencies, aligning projects with city priorities and ensuring governance for data systems and digital tools.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years in senior leadership and project management in government, with strong stakeholder skills and a track record of delivering on complex technology initiatives

Qualifications

• 8+ years of senior leadership experience directing technology, digital strategy, and program operation workstreams.
• 8+ years of project management experience implementing complex technology solutions in government or regulated environments.
• Experience aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals in NYC government or comparable ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with program leads and executives to translate policy needs into actionable IT initiatives.
• Lead ideation, efficiency, and research workstreams addressing program needs with technology.
• Articulate use cases for IT solutions that advance child care and education goals.
• Oversee design, deployment, and governance of digital tools and data systems across City programs.
• Lead cross-functional teams across IT, data, product, and policy to achieve shared goals.
• Establish metrics and evaluate impact on service delivery, equity, and efficiency.
• Champion modernization and user-centered digital solutions across multiple agencies.
• Supervise the Data Manager and provide coaching.
