Job summary

EY in the United States is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center who will balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while remaining close to code and decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience, including leading project teams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Angular or React for full-stack guidance.
• Experience deploying on a major cloud platform.
• CI/CD pipelines, container deployments, testing, and code quality gates.
• Agile/Scrum delivery, planning, and release tracking.
• Experience coordinating distributed teams across geographies.
• Mentorship and coaching skills to grow engineering practices.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming.
• Logging/monitoring with Splunk; Hadoop/Spark/Flink for data processing.
• Ability to manage delivery risks and client communications.
• Willing to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software delivery across planning, design, dev, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, and complex engineering issue resolution.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery including sprint planning and backlog management.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, code reviews, and career development.
• Partner with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Support event-driven/data-processing solutions with Kafka/Spark/Hadoop if required.
