Job summary

RTX seeks a Principal Digital CCA Designer in El Segundo to design digital circuit cards for Airborne Radar hardware and integrate them in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.

You will guide junior engineers, perform SI/PI analyses, and collaborate with systems, mechanical, and software teams while coordinating with government programs to ensure compliance. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 8+ years of applicable experience in architecting, designing, implementing, and testing digital Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) designs.
• Experience with high-speed mixed signal circuit card design and/or high-density, high-speed digital circuit card design.
• Experience in bus standards protocol such as: sRIO, SpaceWire, VME, PCI, PCIe, VPX, and Gb Ethernet.
• Experience designing hardware boards that house Xilinx and Altera FPGAs.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance post-start is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design digital circuit cards for Airborne Radar hardware during hardware development and integration.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams and work independently under senior engineering guidance.
• Perform component obsolescence evaluations and select electrical parts; participate in vendor trade studies; conduct SI and PI analyses.
• Guide junior engineers and deliver technical presentations; collaborate with systems, mechanical, and software teams.
• Work with government personnel and programs to define, refine, and validate hardware requirements for compliance.
• Occasional business-related travel may be required.
