Job summary

Apple, Inc. is seeking a Digital ASIC Architect for the Motion Sensing Hardware team in California.

You will own the digital architecture of motion sensing ASICs from concept through silicon, translating requirements into realizable systems and defining high-level models to prove architecture before RTL. You will collaborate with circuit design, firmware, algorithms, and software teams to ensure optimal interactions and drive tape-out readiness across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with extensive industry experience.
• Deep expertise in digital ASIC architecture for sensor or mixed-signal systems.
• Experience taping out high-volume digital/mixed-signal ICs from architecture to production.

Responsibilities

• Define the digital architecture for motion sensing ASICs across product lines.
• Perform trade-off analysis and interface with cross-functional teams for decisions.
• Define hardware/firmware partitioning, memory hierarchy, and I/O specs.
• Lead digital architecture reviews with internal and vendor stakeholders.
• Develop sensing algorithms and signal processing pipelines; model in MATLAB/Python/SystemC.
• Co-simulate digital with analog MEMS models and validate with silicon.
• Draft IP- and IC-level specifications and document risks and assumptions.
• Communicate program status and mitigation plans; minimal business travel.
