Job summary

Citi is seeking a Digital Software Engineer to lead digital architecture strategy across its secure and high-performance platforms. You will set the technical direction for Citi's Digital team and mentor engineers while shaping scalable systems and services across cloud environments.

The role requires deep architectural expertise, hands-on experience with web/mobile frameworks, and proactive collaboration with stakeholders to deliver strategic outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in an enterprise architecture role.
• Experience delivering secure, scalable cloud solutions across AWS/PCF/Akamai.
• Hands-on with web/mobile frameworks including Angular and native iOS/Android.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture strategy for Citi's Digital engineering team, ensuring alignment with enterprise technology direction and long-term business goals.
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance systems and services, balancing immediate needs with strategic outcomes.
• Lead architecture design reviews, identify reusable patterns, and drive system enhancements for faster product delivery.
• Guide and mentor engineers across seniority levels as a technical coach and advisor.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and engage with external vendors to identify innovative solutions.
• Build and analyze delivery metrics to measure engineering and operational excellence.
• Represent Citi's engineering capability externally through conferences, publications, and industry engagement.
• Identify and manage technical and business risk, escalating issues with transparency and ensuring compliance.
