Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Tampa, FL, offering weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a clear career path in maintenance and diagnostics. You will work with state-of-the-art tools on heavy-duty vehicles, with opportunities for certification bonuses and quarterly bonuses based on performance.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs with guidance to mentor junior technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification post secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical).
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
• CDL CLASS A preferred.
• Other location-specific certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replaces defective components as instructed and works unsupervised on most tasks.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint and assigns tasks.
• Comfortably uses Shop Management System and complies with safety and regulatory guidelines.
