Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. Greensboro location seeks a Technician III with minimum 3 years' diesel mechanic experience on heavy construction equipment or rental fleets. You will repair gas/diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems, perform diagnostics, and welding. Strong toolset and safety focus required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic with heavy construction equipment or rental background.
• Advanced repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel/gas engines on equipment and trucks.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines, DPF, SCR, DEF, EGR aftertreatment systems preferred.
• Extensive preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and heavy equipment repairs.
• Must have tools needed to perform the repairs.
• Inspect, service, test equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Strong schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding skills.
• Diesel laptop experience required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Safety oriented and compliant with Sunstate safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform major/minor repairs on gas/diesel engines and complex hydraulics.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and repair equipment.
• Perform novice welding (MIG & SMAW).
• Inspect, service, and test equipment per specs.
• Perform routine maintenance incl. fluids checks and lubrication.
• Maintain accurate maintenance/repair records including warranties.
