Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. in Greensboro, NC is hiring immediately for a diesel mechanic with heavy construction equipment and rental experience.

Typical schedule Monday – Friday 7 AM to 5 PM with overtime eligibility; pay range $32–$37+ per hour plus quarterly branch performance bonuses. You will repair gas and diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, troubleshoot failures, perform routine service, and keep precise maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic with heavy construction equipment or rental background.
• Advanced experience with hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel/gas engines repair.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines, DPF, SCR, DEF and EGR aftertreatment systems preferred.
• Extensive experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Must have the necessary tools to perform equipment repairs.
• Ability to read schematics and use computer diagnostic software.
• Safety oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor repairs on gas and diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment.
• Inspect, service and test equipment to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine service on equipment including fluid checks and lubrication.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, including warranties.
