Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Hammond, LA seeks a Senior Level Diesel Technician to maintain and repair heavy-duty equipment. The role includes diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and hands-on electrical/mechanical work, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (7:00 am – 3:30 pm), weekly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package. Certifications and CDL are valued, with sign-on and quarterly bonuses available—plus generous training and advancement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• 3+ years relevant work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• 2+ years of heavy- and medium-duty repair experience required.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and road test.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and shop systems to document work.
• Communicate with customers/drivers to determine issue details.
• Mentor junior technicians and support fleet maintenance.
