Job summary

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and complex repairs with minimal supervision, plus mentorship to less experienced techs. Training, PPE, uniforms, and tool/boot allowances are provided by Ryder.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience repairing automotive gas or diesel engines.
• PM and routine maintenance experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• Must have 2+ years of heavy/medium-duty repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including routine maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Completes inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Works unsupervised on most tasks.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the issue.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Mentors Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
