Job summary

Schneider in Columbus, OH is seeking a Senior Diesel Service Advisor to serve as the main liaison between drivers and diesel technicians. You will diagnose faults, plan repairs, and support day-to-day shop operations. You will retrieve fault codes, estimate repair times, communicate status to drivers, manage parts inventory, and coordinate with the team.

This full-time position requires a technical diesel background and strong communication skills. The role follows a 5:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology or related field, or minimum 2 years of diesel service advisor experience.
• Computer systems and diagnostic software experience.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general shop duties, such as answering phone calls, writing service requests, estimating repair times and performing some minor repairs.
• Maintain open lines of communication with drivers by providing status updates on repair decisions and wait times.
• Assist with inventory management by ensuring parts needed for a repair are in stock and submitting parts requests when they’re not.

Job overview
