Job summary

US Foods in Marrero, LA is seeking a full-time diesel mechanic to maintain and repair fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, and lift gates. The role requires independent troubleshooting and adherence to DOT standards in a high-safety shop.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
• Prior experience administering an PM program.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification preferred.
• Experience using fleet maintenance software preferred.
• Welding ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls, assign third party vendors, and plan action with partners.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment per safety rules/regulations.
