Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. in Mansfield, OH is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV) to perform complex repairs on rental and customer equipment. The role requires advanced mechanical aptitude and the ability to read schematics, with responsibilities including service, inspection, and documentation.

You may travel to sites and assist in training junior techs. Applicants should have 5+ years of repair experience, a valid driver's license, and own the necessary tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on equipment and tools with minimal supervision.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance when required; keep vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as needed.
