Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You’ll support training of junior technicians and maintain thorough work order documentation.

The role involves traveling to customer sites as needed and assisting with equipment and parts delivery. A strong mechanical background and customer service mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background with knowledge of engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders).
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
