Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service) to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited supervision. You will travel to customer sites, work independently, and support the Service Department while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and schematics.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on equipment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork and work orders in a timely manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
