Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Diesel Mechanic - Experienced (Service Tech IV). You will perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited supervision, ensuring safety and quality.

There are opportunities to advance into leadership within the Service Department as you grow your skills. Responsibilities include on-site repairs, documenting work orders, and assisting with equipment and parts logistics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with schematics/diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools with independent judgment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
