Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic - Experienced (Service Tech IV) to perform maintenance and repair of complex equipment with minimal supervision. You will travel to customer sites, assist in training junior technicians, and maintain documentation of work orders.

Excellent customer service, valid license, and 5+ years' experience are required. This is a safety‑sensitive role with a path toward leadership within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance when required; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders).
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
