Job summary

Zūm Services, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to ensure the fleet of school buses and service vehicles remain in safe, optimal condition. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform repairs across steering, electrical, cooling, and drive-train systems, and test-drive to verify fixes.

Your role requires 2–4 years of medium/heavy truck repair experience, diesel equipment knowledge, and a valid CDL. You will work in a standards-driven environment with adherence to federal/state/local

Qualifications

• Minimum of two to four years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic repair experience.
• Diagnostic, electrical, and AC skills are required.
• Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment is required.
• Familiarity with diesel and gasoline systems; previous fleet experience.
• Possess the minimum hand tools for a Diesel Technician; CDL license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs on fleet vehicles (steering, electrical, cooling, braking, drive trains, suspensions, transmissions, etc.).
• Test-drive vehicles to ensure repairs resolve the problem.
• Arrange inspections and obtain approvals for major repairs before release.
• Maintain a safe, clean, productive work area in line with guidelines.
• Identify additional maintenance needs and report to technicians with higher qualification.
• Record time spent, parts used, and repairs conducted on the log.
• Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
• Advise Lead Technician of unsafe conditions or vehicle misuse.
