Job summary

Zygo Extreme Precision Optics in Richmond, CA is seeking a Diamond Turning Machinist to operate single-point diamond turning equipment and manufacture high-precision optical components. You will work with Precitech 700Ultra and X Nanoform, set-up tools, and ensure tight tolerances through metrology.

Ideal candidates have 6–8 years of related optics experience, strong GD&T skills, and proficiency in Mastercam/Diffsys programming.

Qualifications

• High School or Technical High School diploma; A.S. degree preferred.
• 6–8 years of related industry experience with spherical optics and optical testing.
• Experience with SPDT manufacturing equipment (Moore Nanotech, Precitech) and programming tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC diamond turning machines to fabricate precision optical components.
• Generate high-quality work flow and meet on-time delivery with supervision and planning support.
• Create, load, edit and store machine programs; run software analysis for control programs.
