Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT 3) in Leonardtown, MD. The role involves setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, patient monitoring, and support under RN supervision.

A minimum of 5 years dialysis experience is required along with a PCT certification and CPR certification where applicable. Responsibilities include patient education, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the clinic.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification as defined by CMS.
• CPR certification is required or to be completed.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
• Evaluate vascular access cannulation and administer heparin as delegated or per state law.
• Record vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters; document on Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis therapy and intervene as prescribed.
• Maintain environmental safety and infection control practices in the clinic.
• Participate in CQI activities and education for staff.
