Job summary

ShopFix in Upper Arlington, OH is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Automotive Technician. This flat-rate role pays $30–$55 per flagged hour with about 40 flagged hours weekly, no weekends, in a climate-controlled 5-bay shop with strong diagnostic support.

You will service Domestic, Asian, and European vehicles and mentor junior technicians while using Autel and Snap-on tools to diagnose complex issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience required.
• Strong diagnostics, electrical, and drivability skills.
• Experience with engine and transmission replacement.
• DVI training available; Tekmetric or DVI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose advanced automotive electrical and drivability concerns.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems across Domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
• Perform engine and transmission removal and replacement.
• Complete timing chain and head gasket repairs.
• Perform Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) and document findings.
• Build repair orders with labor times and parts information.
• Mentor and support developing automotive technicians.
• Use Autel and Snap-on diagnostic equipment to support diagnostics.
