Job summary

Eaton is seeking an Engineering Specialist - Reliability for a hybrid role that can be based in Arden/Asheville, NC, Charlotte, NC, or Greenwood, SC. Travel up to 25% may be required. The role focuses on improving reliability across design, manufacturing, and field performance to reduce failures and boost system effectiveness.

The position offers a general salary range of $113,000–$165,000 per year, with relocation assistance available for qualified U.S. candidates.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, or related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum 8 years of experience in a technical role.
Minimum 4 years of experience in advanced (R&D) engineering or new product development programs.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead comprehensive system reliability and safety program plans; track progress and gate decisions.
Lead Design for Reliability (DfR) initiatives for electrical distribution and control systems and allocate requirements to subsystems.
Build system-level reliability models and manage a system reliability growth plan.
Support PROLaunch/DFSS projects and Lean Six Sigma deployment across divisions and sites.
Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams using A3 and 8D methodologies; implement permanent corrective actions.
Analyze warranty and field failure data to identify trends and establish reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, failure rates, OEE).
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to improve reliability.
Present program status to internal and external customers.
