Job summary

Vantor Inc. seeks a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our OpenShift-based private cloud operations. You will implement Infrastructure as Code tooling, maintain automated pipelines with Argo CD and GitLab, and Harden platforms for sensitive national-security workloads.

Work is SCIF-based up to 90% with sites in Herndon, VA; Westminster, CO; or St. Louis, MO. A TS/SCI clearance is required (CI poly preferred).

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance (willing to obtain CI poly).
• Bachelors in a technical field with 8 years of relevant experience; degree can be waived with more experience.
• Strong DevSecOps experience and Linux expertise.
• Experience deploying in Kubernetes environments, preferably OpenShift.
• Open source deployments and maintenance experience.
• Able to work with a geographically distributed team and SCIF up to 90% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Leverage OpenShift and Kubernetes to configure, monitor, and maintain private cloud
• Create and maintain IaC tools (Ansible, Chef, etc.) for environment provisioning
• Build and sustain automated DevSecOps pipelines with Argo CD and GitLab
• Monitor and troubleshoot across stack from bare metal to apps on OpenShift
• Support ATO requirements through security controls, patching, docs, and remediations
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary SAFe teams

Principal Responsibilities

• Leverage OpenShift and Kubernetes to configure, monitor, and maintain this private cloud environment
• Create and maintain automated, repeatable environment creation and configuration (Infrastructure as Code) tools such as Ansible, Chef, or similar platforms.
• Create and maintain automated DevSecOps pipelines using leading open-source offerings, such as Argo CD and GitLab
• Monitor and troubleshoot issues across the technology stack, from bare-metal to applications deployed in OpenShift
• Support ATO requirements through security control implementation, patching, technical documentation, and remediation of findings
• Communicate with multidisciplinary SAFe Agile teams and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance (with willingness to obtain a CI poly)
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8 years of relevant technical experience, with specific experience in platform operations and automation. Additional years of experience can be used in lieu of a degree
• Demonstrated technical experience with DevSecOps and strong Linux experience required.
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications into a Kubernetes environment, preferably OpenShift
• Open source and custom application deployments and maintenance experience.
• Capable of working effectively with a geographically distributed ops & development team
• Communicates effective with customers and team in written and oral forums
• Ability to work in a SCIF up to 90% of the time, as mission needs require from either Herndon, VA; Westminster, CO; or St. Louis, MO.

Preferred Qualifications

• Sustaining hardware and software on IC or DoD networks
• Distributed systems, REST APIs, microservices, or IaaS/PaaS
• Developing and deploying web services
• Supporting open-source software in government environments
• Maintaining backend GIS platforms
• ICD 503 compliance
• Big data technologies such as Elasticsearch, Accumulo, Spark, Hive, or Hadoop
• Hybrid cloud and on-premises architectures
• Data visualization, data management, data integration, user interfaces, or databases
• CompTIA Security+ or a comparable certification for privileged access
• Experience supporting military or intelligence missions, or familiarity with TCPED systems, is also a plus.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and for all other states is:

$140,000.00 - $200,000.00
