Job summary

Vantor Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to support multi‑site Red Hat OpenShift clusters and NetApp‑backed storage services.

You will help operate and improve platform reliability, lifecycle management, automation, security, and recovery capabilities while partnering with storage, network, security, and development teams. The role supports mission‑critical workloads in a secure or disconnected environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with a CI poly clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or related field.
• Production experience operating Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
• Experience with OpenShift production environments and lifecycle management.
• Automation using Ansible, Terraform, scripting, or GitOps.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Argo CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Monitoring, incident response, and runbook development.
• Ability to collaborate with distributed teams and communicate clearly.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support containerized application delivery.

• Develop and maintain platform tooling, automation, and self-service capabilities
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to improve platform usability and reliability
• Ensure compliance with organizational security and governance standards
• Communicate with multidisciplinary SAFe Agile teams and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with a CI poly clearance (or ability to obtain a CI poly)
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, systems administration, DevOps, infrastructure, or a related technical field. Equivalent experience will be considered. Additional years of experience commiserate in lieu of a degree.
• Production experience operating Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
• Experience supporting production OpenShift environments, including several of the following: cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, Operators, node pools, ingress, registries, and troubleshooting.
• Infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, scripting, or GitOps.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Argo CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Monitoring, alerting, incident response, capacity management, and operational runbook development.
• Capable of working effectively with geographically distributed operations and development teams
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers and teams in written and oral forums
• Willingness to work 90% or as needed in a SCIF environment with some on-call or after-hours onsite support for customer's mission

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating OpenShift with enterprise storage. Familiarity with NetApp ONTAP, Astra Trident, NFS, iSCSI, or CSI-based storage is a plus.
• Security hardening and compliance in restricted, disconnected, or classified environments.
• Strong scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Go)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Understanding of networking, security, and Linux systems administration
• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud platform architectures
• Background in SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) practices
• Experience working with geospatial technology and tools
• CompTIA Security+ or comparable certification for privileged user access.
• Experience in/or supporting military/intelligence or knowledge of some IC PED systems is a plus!

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and for all other states is:

$165,000.00 - $215,000.00
