Job summary

IronArch Technology, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business, is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support the VA's RISE program. This senior IC role works across multiple engineering teams on an event-driven platform, focusing on secure, scalable delivery via Amazon MSK and Kafka.

You will guide integrations end-to-end, design schemas, secure pipelines, and keep the platform healthy with automated, observable infrastructure.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps or related roles.
Hands-on production experience with Amazon MSK and/or Apache Kafka.
Experience designing and supporting event-driven architectures at enterprise scale.
Strong AWS cloud experience; GovCloud preferred.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines for enterprise apps.
Ability to guide cross-team technical work and maintain a quality bar.
Understanding of security and compliance requirements in government programs.

Responsibilities

Guide teams integrating with the MSK/Kafka event bus from design through production cutover.
Contribute to schema design, review, and governance for producers and consumers.
Document integration patterns and production-readiness criteria for faster, safer deployments.
Coordinate cross-team integration work, including external consumers.
Build and maintain secure, automated CI/CD pipelines with security checks.
Champion DevSecOps practices: secrets management and dependency scanning.
Ensure delivery aligns with VA security and compliance requirements.
Operate AWS infrastructure for the event bus using Terraform.
Manage MSK cluster capacity, topics, partitions, upgrades, and cost efficiency.
Automate deployment, configuration, and release processes.
Partner with VA stakeholders to sequence and deliver work.
Mentor engineers on event-driven architecture and DevSecOps.
