Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our Engineering organization. You will lead secure cloud architectures across AWS/GCP, build secure CI/CD pipelines, and embed security controls throughout the development lifecycle to protect patient data.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will define DevSecOps strategy, mentor engineers, collaborate with Security and Compliance, and ensure our platform remains compliant with HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST as we scale nationwide.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software, infra, or security engineering with DevSecOps focus.
• Deep cloud architecture experience (AWS and/or GCP).
• Strong skills in containerized and Kubernetes environments.
• Hands-on with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Jenkins).
• IaC experience with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Secure coding practices and application security knowledge.
• IAM, RBAC, zero-trust, and encryption fundamentals.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, PCI).
• Scripting or programming in Python, Go, or Ruby.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the DevSecOps vision across infra, application, and CI/CD.
• Architect secure cloud-native systems on AWS/GCP.
• Establish security patterns, guardrails, and reference architectures.
• Design, maintain, and secure CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
• Drive infrastructure-as-code security best practices (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Automate security testing and compliance checks to reduce manual overhead.
• Implement policy-as-code and automated governance controls.
• Create automated workflows and improve developer experience through tooling.
• Lead IAM strategy and least-privilege enforcement.
• Strengthen container and Kubernetes security posture.
• Oversee secrets management, encryption standards, and key management.
• Implement controls on network segmentation, zero-trust architectures, and environment isolation.
• Support and mature security program in HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, PCI.
• Partner with Security and Compliance on audits and remediation.
• Provide senior-level leadership during incidents and root-cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding and DevSecOps practices.
• Influence leadership on security strategy and risk prioritization.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Product, IT, and Compliance.
