Job summary

Northstrat seeks a Senior DevSecOps Engineer IV to support and upgrade a global, cloud-native architecture for mission-critical RF software. The role emphasizes secure, automated deployment, robust Kubernetes infrastructure on AWS, and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines across security domains.

The candidate will implement automated security controls, monitor health remotely, and collaborate with development and security teams to ensure compliance with government standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in DevOps/DevSecOps in cloud environments.
• "Active TS/SCI US government clearance" is required.
• Advanced Python and/or Bash scripting for automation.
• Experience deploying software to remote operational systems.
• Strong Linux/Unix (RHEL-based) command line proficiency.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Helm.
• Strong Docker skills: Dockerfiles, hardened images, pipeline integration.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience: cluster ops, RBAC, networking, troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and distributed teams.
• Ability to travel up to 5%.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate OTA software deployments to globally fielded systems in DDIL environments.
• Maintain scalable Kubernetes infrastructure on AWS with high availability.
• Build and refine CI/CD pipelines for secure code-to-cloud transitions across domains.
• Integrate automated security scanning (Trivy, SonarQube) and enforce gov standards.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance across cloud and container environments.
• Develop features to automate, scale, test, and secure a Kubernetes-based infra.
• Create and maintain hardened Docker images with STIG compliance and CI/CD integration.
• Maintain technical docs, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
• Ensure DevSecOps practices comply with standards and collaborate across teams.
