Job summary

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to design, implement, and sustain CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, and DevSecOps workflows within secure cloud environments in support of national security missions.

In this role, you will drive automation, integration, and quality assurance across iterative development projects, ensuring platform reliability and security compliance.

Qualifications

• DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor's or Master's in a STEM field; degree may be substituted.
• 10+ years of CI/CD, test automation, and DevSecOps experience.
• Experience with AWS and cloud architecture.
• Experience with Python, PowerShell, and Groovy.
• Experience with DevOps tooling including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, Active Directory, IdAM, and LDAP.
• Experience with API gateways and catalogs.
• Familiarity with Jira and Agile.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows in cloud environments.
• Support cloud architecture and system design, preferably AWS.
• Develop interfaces using Python, PowerShell, Groovy.
• Decompose tasks using Agile methodologies and Jira.
• Build and maintain test plans; test and troubleshoot for readiness.

• Implement DevOps automation with Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, AD/ IdAM / LDAP.
• Support containerized environments with Rancher, Kubernetes.
• Prepare technical documentation and procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to design, implement, and sustain CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, and DevSecOps workflows within secure cloud environments in support of national security missions. In this role, you will drive automation, integration, and quality assurance across iterative development projects, ensuring platform reliability and security compliance. Working alongside engineering, cybersecurity, and infrastructure experts, you will troubleshoot complex issues, develop integration interfaces, and implement improvements that directly enable mission delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, and DevSecOps workflows within cloud-based environments.
• Support cloud architecture and system design, with a preference for AWS.
• Develop and maintain integration interfaces using Python, PowerShell, and Groovy.
• Decompose and manage tasks using Agile methodologies and Jira story development.
• Build and maintain robust test plans; perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure operational readiness.
• Administer and maintain system components, API gateways, and catalogs.
• Implement and maintain DevOps automation using Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, Active Directory, IdAM, and LDAP.
• Support containerized environments utilizing Rancher, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
• Quickly assess and apply customer security requirements and processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM field. Experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• 10+ years of experience with CI/CD, test automation, and DevSecOps on iterative development projects.
• Experience with cloud architecture and system design, preferably AWS.
• Experience developing integration interfaces using Python, PowerShell, and Groovy.
• Experience with DevOps tooling including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, Active Directory, IdAM, and LDAP.
• Experience with API gateways and catalogs.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and task decomposition using Jira.
• Familiarity with containerized development environments including Rancher and Kubernetes,

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) infrastructure and tools.
• Experience configuring and instrumenting monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana and Splunk.
• Experience implementing and integrating ServiceNow solutions.
• Experience supporting virtualization technologies and application streaming or layering techniques.
• Experience leading from a total system perspective across cloud services, infrastructure, and security domains.
• Experience configuring and administering SharePoint, IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM), Teamwork Cloud/Cameo, and Tableau.
