Job summary

VTG seeks a Systems Engineer with DevOps focus in Herndon, VA to manage a government customer’s application infrastructure. You will oversee Linux servers, cloud services, automation, and security reviews while enabling scalable, reliable operations in a virtualized environment.

The role emphasizes infrastructure as code, containerization with Docker, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet mission-critical requirements.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with poly required.
• 11+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Infrastructure as code experience with automation tools.
• Experience with Linux administration and Docker containerization.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Networking knowledge including VLANs and subnets.
• Security review of applications and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the customer's application servers, networks and development & test infrastructure.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot application hosting services.
• Monitor system performance and audits to ensure data integrity and protection.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify technical requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Implement best practices for automation, backup, disaster recovery, and system redundancy.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in cloud computing and IT systems administration.
